Description

2024 Gerard Seguin, Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grape_Rossola BiancaDue to severe mildew pressure, the 2024 vintage saw some of the lowest yields in nearly a decade. Ultimately, it was a story of terroir. The stony, well drained hillside sites of Gevrey naturally shed excess water, their limestone bedrock and alluvial debris functioning as a passive filtration system that flatter, heavier soils simply could not replicate. Grard Sguin farms exactly this kind of terrain. Here, the terroir did not merely perform well in

yielding wines with freshness

handmade at palenque Tio Pedro by (you guess it) a man named Pedro (who is presumably also an uncle)

A hot August ripening period followed by late-season rains resulted in a wine with more mid-palate density and power than the 2019

textured finish

including Listan Blanco

long macerations

shaped by meticulous vineyard management through a challenging yet ultimately favorable vintage for early-harvested fruit

January's rendition is made with small-farm genepy sourced from the Haute-Alps region

predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon

rooted in the predominantly sandy soils of the Lirac appellation on the Rhône's right bank

and grapefruit with a texture that is supple on entry and grounded by a crisp

and a fluid
